FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a temp-to-perm assignment?

It’s a full-time nursing role where you’re employed by Health Carousel but work at one of our partner healthcare facilities. You’ll stay at the same facility for the duration of your assignment period while receiving full benefits, paid time off, and career support directly from Health Carousel.

How long is the assignment period for a temp-to-perm assignment?

Assignments generally range from 2,080 to 6,240 hours, with the potential opportunity to extend or explore a new placement once the initial period ends.

Who employs me during the assignment?

You are employed by Health Carousel throughout your assignment and work full-time at one of our partner hospitals.

What professions do you staff for temp-to-perm assignments?

Temp to perm assignments are available for registered nurses, medical technologists and physical therapists. Additional professions may be added in the future as needs evolve.

How is a temp-to-perm assignment different from a travel contract?

A temp-to-perm assignment places you at a facility for a longer, fixed assignment period of up to 6,240 hours. A travel contract is much shorter, typically 13 weeks.

What benefits are included?

You’ll receive comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, a 401(k) match, relocation assistance, and access to our full circle of support—including credentialing, clinical, and housing teams.

Can I earn an advanced degree while on assignment?

Yes! Nurses in select assignments can pursue an employer-funded online RN to BSN, MSN, NP, or DNP program while working full-time, with tuition fully covered as long as academic and work requirements are met.

Does this option include company housing or a stipend?

No, housing is not company-paid and does not include a stipend. However, relocation financial assistance is available, and our Travel & Housing team provides full support to help you with your move.

What happens when the contract ends?

At the end of your assignment, you may have the opportunity to extend, convert to full-time staff at the facility, explore other temp-to-perm placements, or transition to travel or local assignments through Health Carousel Nursing & Allied Health.
