Our January 2017 Super Nurse of the Month is: Shelia! Her smile and warm personality made a patient’s stay just a little bit better.
Here’s what Shelia’s facility shared with us a few weeks ago:
I received a call from a patient yesterday. She wanted to take the time to thank the hospital for the wonderful care that she received. She states that her entire stay was great. The patient mentioned Shelia, CCU [as] very kind and caring. … She stated that she continuously checked on her, made sure she was clean, and had an outstanding attitude.
Super Nurse Recruiter Shelbie Summers had a glowing endorsement of Shelia:
From the moment I first spoke to Shelia, I could tell how wonderful she was. This is her first assignment with Health Carousel Travel Nursing, but what blew me away, was that her home was flooded from Hurricane Matthew, yet just days later she left it behind to keep her commitment to her assignment. It takes a strong person to pick up and make that kind of sacrifice – a Super Nurse, really. She exemplifies what we at HCTN hope to find in a nurse: passion, love, timeliness, all done with a smile.
So what’s Shelia’s super power? According to her:
We’re so proud to call Shelia a Super Nurse and couldn’t be more excited to see where she goes from here! And for winning, Shelia has received a personalized comic strip, and a pizza party on us for her entire unit. Keep smiling, Shelia!
