What do you enjoy most about your work?
The thing I enjoy the most about my work is the relationship-building. I love making personal connections and building long-term relationships with my nurses. Many of my candidates and working nurses have turned into personal friends.
What do you do for travelers that you feel is completely unique to you?
My customer service is my most unique feature. I will go above and beyond to advocate for my nurses, think creatively to solve problems and make administrative tasks easy, convenient and quick. My favorite example is this: one of my nurses was having trouble finding a reliable dogwalker, so I researched the area and found some options for her. She took my recommendations and used one of them for the entirety of her assignment. I think I made two friends that day (woof).
What is your favorite thing about working with travelers?
My favorite thing about working with travelers is experiencing their free spirit and being part of their journey. Travelers are a unique breed unlike any other. They are adaptable and versatile to mold into any environment and thrive. They are adventurous and fearless. They are willing to go to a strange place with strange people and make themselves invaluable in a short period of time. I love having a small part in that excitement.
What is your most valuable advice for the travelers you work with?
My most valuable piece of advice for my travelers is bring positivity wherever you go. Many assignments and facilities are difficult - that's why they need us. The positive energy inside those difficult environments can make such a difference for the traveler, the unit and the patients.
Why are you passionate about this industry?
I do this job because I truly think my contribution makes a small impact in our world. Although I am not qualified to care for anyone medically, I can help in this small way. Nurses play such an important role and provide such an unmatched service to our community, and I love that I can help them increase their income significantly while they share their invaluable skillset with the people who need it the most.
