How Can Travel Nurses Help During the Coronavirus Outbreak?

With over 32,000 reported cases of Coronavirus in the U.S., the amount of patients that require care is threatening to overwhelm hospitals. Facilities that are already short-staffed are struggling to cope. As nurses know, when the ratio of patients to nurses rises, the quality of patient care decreases. Many nurses are working around the clock to care for patients, and if nurses get sick, they must go into quarantine. This leaves a hole in a workforce already struggling to care for every patient that comes through their doors.

That’s where travel nurses like you can make a huge difference. The biggest challenge that COVID-19 poses is adequately caring for all the patients who are infected. With nurses in many locations already overworked, travel nurses can bring much-needed help to heavily affected areas. And if staff nurses become infected and need to be quarantined, travel nurses can ensure that patient care continues seamlessly.

To aid healthcare professionals and help contain the spread of coronavirus, HHS has issued a regulation to allow all medical professionals to practice across state lines to meet hospital needs as of March 18, 2020. This is a welcome change that will enable you to go where your services are needed most, regardless of your state license. Travel nurses are now able to travel to any location for a Rapid Response assignment in the fight against Coronavirus.

If you take a travel nursing assignment to care for patients with coronavirus, Health Carousel Travel Nursing will have your back. If any of our nurses are required to be quarantined while on assignment (e.g., due to a doctor’s note or client notice), you will receive wages for scheduled shifts that you miss for up to 14 days. If eligible for stipends and complete your quarantine at your assignment location. If you opt into health benefits, these will continue up to 28 days before returning to the assignment.

We’ve secured crisis rates with facilities and health systems across the country, and you will be rewarded for stepping up to the front lines and combatting the effects of coronavirus. Our communities and healthcare workers across the country need your help now more than ever — can we count on you?
